The Genesis of a Quartet
Opus 4 was conceived in 1996 when four friends and aspiring musicians—Mauro Fernandes, Marcelo Martins, Leandro Léo, and Fábio Souza—joined forces. The group quickly gained recognition for their energetic live performances and infectious melodies, which blended pop, rock, and funk influences.
The Rise to Fame and Controversies
In 1998, Opus 4 released their debut album "Opus 4," which spawned the smash hit "Meu Jeito de Ser." The song became an instant sensation, propelling the band to stardom. However, their rapid ascent was not without its controversies.
